Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority

The Government of Saskatchewan has given first reading to The Insurance Act, which modernizes the regulation of the insurance industry and improves consumer protection. This new legislation will increase harmonization with other western provinces and replace The Saskatchewan Insurance Act, which has not undergone substantial revision for decades.
Research, interprovincial comparisons, consultations with industry participants along with reviews of national and provincial projects have led to the creation of the new legislation.

For questions concerning the legislation please contact Janette Seibel, Lawyer, Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan, 306-787-2953, or Jim Hall, Senior Crown Counsel, Legislative Services, 306-787-5356,
