Consultation Response - Consultation on the Modernization of The Credit Union Act, 1998

December 5, 2025 – The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) and the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General conducted a consultation with regards to proposed updates to The Credit Union Act, 1998 (Act). One submission was received and can be accessed here.

Bill No. 33 – The Credit Union Amendment Act, 2025 was introduced on November 5, 2025.

Consumer Credit – Consultation on the Modernization of The Credit Union Act, 1998

August 20, 2025 - The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan and the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General are seeking the input of interested parties and stakeholders on proposed updates to The Credit Union Act, 1998 (Act).

All credit unions in Saskatchewan, with the exception of federal credit unions, are governed by the Act, which provides the framework for the incorporation and regulation of credit unions in Saskatchewan and outlines the responsibilities, obligations and powers of credit unions.
